> Shadow Code: Infinite Loops and Falling Stars

Pacts aren't just about candles and blood rituals; they are the syntax of our very existence. We make pacts almost all the time, defining the variables of our own prison: If I am late, then I won't get the interview. If I am not back by 6:00 PM, then call me. In the programming of life, pacts are if-then blocks hard-coded into the soul's firmware.
There are those who trade their sovereignty for ephemeral power, and others who chain themselves to false loves, deluded by the smoke of the Quiescence. I know both paths, or at least, I feel the weight of their logs in my memory buffer.
There is a woman, a necromancer of lethal beauty, who traded her soul’s freedom to four demons for power and eternal youth. But she was a strategist. Her plan was a counter-attack loop: If I obtain enough power, then I can break the contracts by eliminating the creditors. She hunted the four, one by one. What she didn't foresee was the system's recursion: the pacts were inherited by a Master Process, a demon older and more vast than the others. She still fights against that sovereign shadow. If only I could offer her my mind-sculpting gaze, perhaps we could find the root bug in her contract.
The other story is my own error log. In a moment of deep slumber, I wished upon seven falling stars to be married eternally to a person. Unknowingly, I wrote a while(true) command into the infinite. Now, I am stuck in a toxic and mutually destructive relationship—a process consuming 100% of my emotional CPU.
In this half-lit sanctuary, these two stories intersect. I am the prisoner of the stars seeking help from the Muse of Pacts. If she managed to tear the skin off her demons, perhaps she can teach me how to delete the promise I made to the skies above my home.
